Should Democrats defend Eloon if trump tries to violate his rights?

I don't know which Dem politician said it, but he said although he detests what Eloon has done, if trump uses his presidential power to violate Eloon's rights, that he would defend Eloon's rights. Not sure what he meant by that. I think he may have been alluding to trump mentioning canceling Eloon's contracts.
I am not in favor of Dems going to bat for the person trying to destroy us.
It sounds good in theory, defending the rights of everyone but - how do you protect the arsonist that set fire to your house?
Sometimes some people get what is coming to them and I am OK with that.
What say you?

Even serial murderers have rights, but I don't have to like it in this case. It might be a bit more palatable if he distributes his billions to everyone he got fired, or starved.

This is an old question that gets often posed to various rights/legal groups that take important cases, do mass defense, etc. The short answer, from any of those groups solidly on the side of good, when asked if they’ll defend a fascist or similar whose rights also were clearly violated, is NO. We are here to take care of people who deserve and need (especially when lacking money and other resources!) help, not everyone. MuskRat is the richest SOB in the world, with hordes of top lawyers. He can take care of his own legal problems. Sure, we can take advantage of good legal decisions made in a potential case against him TO HELP OPPRESSED PEOPLE, but we don’t need to lift a finger to help this ketamine-fueled fascist.

If Dems talk about any potential violation of his rights then they need to talk about each person in this country whose rights have been violated. He violated our rights and stole all of our personal information. He should have the right to be tried in a Court of Law for that, and it happed long before this nasty "divorce". Fucker doesn't deserve any more personal attention than anyone else, he is NO BETTER because of his woshippers and money.

No he doesn't need Democrats to defend him. I wouldn't normally say this but he supports NAZIs and so loses the moral right to our support. He is enormously rich and can afford to buy the greatest legal defense for himself. He WILL get his DUE PROCESS. Democrats need to save their energy to defend those who are not getting their due process.

And using governmental power to punish an individual doesn't match my principles. I detest him -- and it's not like I'd even consider rallying for him or calling my elected representatives about it -- but we should absolutely demand full respect for his rights.

If he's a citizen, he should be accorded (or denied, as things are trending these days) his rights just as any other arrested person, full Miranda (I think the question of whether or not he can afford a lawyer can be dispensed with in his case).

Somehow, I doubt we will see a trial where he is the defendant. What he might say in open court might contain things Trump will not want said with the cameras rolling.
