Modern males are struggling. Author Richard Reeves outlines the three major issues boys and men face and shares possible solutions.

Boys and men are falling behind. This might seem surprising to some people, and maybe ridiculous to others, considering that discussions on gender disparities tend to focus on the structural challenges faced by girls and women, not boys and men.

But long-term data reveal a clear and alarming trend: In recent decades, American men have been faring increasingly worse in many areas of life, including education, workforce participation, skill acquisition, wages, and fatherhood.

Gender politics is often framed as a zero-sum game: Any effort to help men takes away from women. But in his 2022 book Of Boys and Men, journalist and Brookings Institution scholar Richard V. Reeves argues that the structural problems contributing to male malaise affect everybody, and that shying away from these tough conversations is not a productive path forward.

I seldom watch the vids, I prefer the written word.

The brief transcript tells me all I need to know. I don't need to read about "think of the poor boys"!

That's the manosphere pamphlet . So feminism is to blame, because as women make progress, there are fewer higher in status males for them to choose from. So the 'solution' for incels to fight, claw, grift, and lie their way up the ladder. Andrew Tate et al promise an inside track to the top, so they can 'take their pick'. And don't worry too much about consent, bros!

Men and boys said that trump, one added Tate, best suited their values.

Yes because men are the ones who have taken economic changes since 1969 on the chin, and that had absolutely nothing to dio with the gains made by some women in academia and some professions. This guy is WAY off base there, it wasn't so long ago that the handful of women who managed to surmount the barriers erected by men and get into universities were denied degrees, even though most of them had completed the work and exams with distinction, keeping them from the professions they'd aspired to.

It wasn't until the civil rights bills were passed in the 1960s that women were able to open bank accounts, rent apartments, tet credit cards or apply for loans, and do so many of the things we needed to do to run our own lives if Prince Charming failed to turn up.

There is just no comparison between what men and women have had to face. However, instead of complaining about the past, it's time to look at the present, to see who was behind the horrific economic changes that beggared the bottom 75% or so, the non academically talented people whose work is undervalued or unvalued. Then we have to change it and that will take all of us, men and women, and questions of who gets to dominate whom should not ever be asked.

When women get a tiny crumb of the pie, they throw a giant mantrum about how "unfair" it is to these poor men. They get even angrier when they think they are "deprived" of the use of women's bodies because so many women are saying "no" to them.

The video sounds like MRA crap. I am glad you summarized it so I don't have to wade through it.

I remember coming out of grad school and interviewing for jobs and one person said "so when are you going to start a family and leave the profession?" WTH!
