https://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/msnbc-the-weekend-new-shows-premiere/I've been watching Capehart and Daniels with great interest. They are two gay men of color at the helm.
So far, this show is wonderful, at least to me (old, straight female). I have a transitioning grandchild in L.A. so I have a very high level of interest in shows that deal with her issues as well as my granddaughters' and grandson, both in very blue states.
This is a good thing!

(6,606 posts)10% but I think it's a turn off to the other 90%. I think we're going down the wrong path. Democracy is on the line, and I'm not sure this is how we save it. Just my opinion.

(6,606 posts)Presenting the wrong image of the democratic party at this time. Not the hill I am willing to die on. And I'm a gay man.

as filler to watch while you're waiting for Ali Velshi.

Edit: Primetime Weekend is very good: Ayman Mohyeldin, Catherine Rampell, Antonia Hylton And Elise Jordan
Antonia Hylton is one to watch.

(68,296 posts)I remember Elise because she's a Yalie. I like it when she's on Morning Joe because he didn't get into Yale Law School and never got over it. In fact, Mika sometimes sticks it to him by saying "Did you go to Yale Law School?" He ignores that question...

(16,319 posts)The one they moved to weeknight evenings. They had the formula down pat.
For some reason, I just can't get into being interested in their presentation.
The rest of the weekend lineup is pretty good. The best, of course, is Velshi.

(24,701 posts)Capeharts smear appears to have been to support the corporate wing of the party over the socialist Sanders, who has never wavered from his support of what I consider the core of the Democratic Party using the powers of government to better the lives of all Americans. The late Sen. Paul Wellstone called it, the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party. They draw the votes, but seeing how the game runs on money to buy time on the tee vee, not what counts the money.

(65,747 posts)I check DU and WaPo, but tend to watch sports and murder Mysteries with my wife. I just need a break from talking head news stuff.

(68,296 posts)And I mean classical music and sometimes classical ballet if it is on (which I call "men in tights and women in tutus"
. Hubby was briefly a classical cello player and we can zone out on the gorgeous music, particularly of the full-on Romantic era but also some string quartets playing Bach. It is wonderful, refreshing and energizing.
