LOS ANGELES -- In response to Trump administration's deployment tonight of the National Guard in Los Angeles County, please attribute the following statement to Victor Leung, chief legal and advocacy officer at the ACLU Foundation of Southern California:
"The Trump administration's baseless deployment of the National Guard is plainly retaliation against California, a stronghold for immigrant communities, and is akin to a declaration of war on all Californians.
Workers in our garment districts or day laborers seeking work outside of Home Depot do not undermine public safety. They are our fathers and mothers and neighbors going about their day and making ends meet. Rather, the only threat to safety today is the masked goon squads that the administration has deployed to terrorize the communities of Los Angeles County.
There is no rational reason to deploy the National Guard on Angelenos, who are rightfully outraged by the federal governments attack on our communities and justly exercising their First Amendment right to protest the violent separation of our families. We intend to file suit and hold this administration accountable and to protect our communities from further attacks."

(22,883 posts)I've been contributing to the ACLU regularly, ever since Schlump's first term. I can't really afford it since Mr. B retired, but I can't stand the thought of giving it up while that filthy piece of garbage is still in power!

The TACO is like a rat in a corner, he is lashing out, and seeking revenge, we can do the same thing PEACEFULLY. GOOD TROUBLE, as John Lewis stated.

(55,536 posts)I was wondering if Home Depot was the site of the protest since so many residents hang out at Home Depot parking lots looking for some day jobs. This reminds me of the film A Day Without Mexicans. No one is willing to work in the conditions or for the pay these hard working people are willing to do. Who in the hell is going to pick all the food in the valley? NO ONE! Especially the redneck, loser assholes who are calling for them to be deported.
99.9% of citizens would never work for shitty pay, no benefits, horrid working conditions, back breaking labor 8 hours a day in the hot sun. They are the biggest hypocrites on Earth when their hate filled MAGAT rhetoric about deporting people is coming out of their disgusting, vile, crap eating mouths.

They did not.
More of this "Just following orders" bullshit?
They're the feds so they have authority?
THAT IS WHY the civilians' have to face the feds.
Our government has forsaken us to racist, bigoted Maga, Homan, Miller and Chump.
