I got this info from a neighbor and I don't know how they know. But since ICE was in Omaha yesterday it makes sense. Spread the word the focus is roofers and I assume meat packing in Crete.

(151,562 posts)development. That gave me a chance to practice my Spanish. Oddly, I didn't ask the siding workers if they were documented. They worked fast and well on the job. I guess that's enough for me.

(131,241 posts)I walk around the neighborhood every day and I haven't heard a word of English coming from any of those crews. These residential construction workers (undocumented or otherwise; ICE doesn't care) are probably pretty safe for now; the raids so far are on places where a lot of folks can be rounded up all at once to make Stephen "Goebbels" Miller's quotas. But before long that will probably change, and nobody will be able to get a roof built or repaired, or crops harvested, or restaurant dishes washed, or hotel beds made, or any of that "invisible" cheap labor we take for granted.

(60,320 posts)It is a fully employed labour supply. Unemployment in the US is holding steady. The labour market is tight. People aren't even swapping jobs.
Nobody among the "tons of teens/20 somethings with plenty of time" you claim to be familiar with is going to move to Nebraska because $10/hr jobs suddenly become $15/hour jobs.
And your male supremacy slip is showing the way you assume only males work there.

(1,582 posts)for speaking out that he wont be a rubber stamp on felon47s full agenda? Seems about right to me as hes hateful, petty & vindictive. However, it wont be the business who get dinged for hiring these workers
