(27,228 posts)In general, be constantly assessing where you are in the crowd, where your exit routes are (they change constantly) and where the cops are. Don't worry about policing other people. Follow the directions of your bloc leader. Stay alert and ready to move.

(27,228 posts)seen it.
Blocking a public sidewalk or road with your ass when someone is spray painting a building isn't seen as "peaceful" by the cops. This is all magical thinking that has very little basis in reality.

(133,112 posts)obviously dependant on false flag violence and vandalism to make Trump's propaganda seem true. They are quite defensive about it too.

(133,112 posts)protesters pointed at them for their bad behaviour at one point. That could work too. Sit and point. Thanks for jogging my memory.

(9,628 posts)Sitting down in a crowd that can panic at any moment is very dangerous. Please do not do that.

(52,725 posts)That you can point to the bad actors and that flag would signify false flag?

(1,531 posts)...and I'm speaking from the experience of having done this type of thing.
If there are people engaging in non-peaceful acts, step away from them and point them out to the authorities. They aren't with you, and you owe them nothing. The thing you don't want to do is panic or join in on their destructive acts. Peaceful protest doesn't equal antagonizing law enforcement. Protest is about wisely using the assets available to you. Law enforcement getting the agitators out of your protest is a good use of assets.
Point out the troublemakers, let law enforcement deal with them, and continue to peacefully protest..

(33,085 posts)They are telling everyone not to engage. Turn your back. Don't answer their taunts or questions. Remain non-violent.
I am going to listen to our organizers IRL, not some bigmouth on the internet, who could have evil intentions.

(1,831 posts)Will local MAGA drive by and spew hatred? Probably.
I fully expect to see whoopie trucks flying Trump flags and Confederate ones, too. This is their right. Ignore it.
I think this meme is meant to spread fear and keep folks home.
Link arms, dance in the streets, sing patriotic songs and fly that flag proudly. 👍
Now those of you who live in big cities make sure you are aware of everything around you. Have an exit strategy and listen to your block leaders at the pre-march meeting.
Link arms, dance in the streets, sing patriotic songs and fly that flag proudly. ✌️
Dont let fear of the unknown keep you home.
Be safe all!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
