Ron DeSantis Says Floridians Have Right to Hit Protesters With Cars

Ron DeSantis Says Floridians Have Right to Hit Protesters With Cars
Published Jun 12, 2025 at 5:48 AM EDT

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has said Floridians have a right to hit protesters with their car if they need to "flee for your safety."

DeSantis was speaking on The Rubin Report on Wednesday when he said: "We also have a policy that if you're driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle, and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety.

"And so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that's their fault for impinging on you."

DeSantis' comments come ahead of the "No Kings" protests planned for June 14. Protest organizers have said the demonstrations are non-violent and are providing deescalation training to people taking part.

Lets play a game. Lets say MAGA people were protesting (well within their constitutional rights) and they "impeded" someone, we could just run them over? Just asking for a friend.

goes and hits some of those people, going out of their way to just hit these unfortunate victims just for the hell of it, then the state of FL, the governor, and the driver of the vehicles that hit pedestrians ALL are guilty and should at a minimum, be sued until it hurts.

Anyone driving their car into a crowd should expect to be shot.

Surrounds and threatens is a far cry from the bullshit clickbait headline implying Floridians can just run down protesters. Deadly force applied by a person in an occupied car is long part of castle doctrine here in Florida.

Not defending DeStupid by any stretch, just being factual which is a woefully far cry from what Newsweek wants you to click on, repost, like, etc.
