If thatâs what they do to a United States Senator with a question, imagine what they can do to any American that dares to speak up. We will hold this administration accountable.

(100,133 posts)About 2 hours ago in Los Angeles, US Senator Padilla announced himself by name, and Kristi Noem had him ejected, thrown to the floor, and cuffed. She announced LA is a war zone and dashed off to FOX to lie in her teeth that he was unknown to her and rushed the stage.
Nicole Wallace, bless her, replayed the video (several times) and made sure the truth was told.
Caught part of Mayor Karen Basss news conference after, and the Mayor was damn good. She described the area of dispute (perhaps 1/2 mile of LAs 500 square miles of territory). Among other things she said shed served in the House for 10 years with Noem, and that she does not recognize this woman at all.
Well, this is certainly the next giant step.

(8,103 posts)He was doing his job. He identified himself, and he was pushed and hustled out to another room and ultimately a hallway, where he was made to kneel and lie down, and handcuffed.
I must say, Alex Padilla is scary looking. If he had fought back, he probably could have gotten shot. Instead, he did not resist at all, except where he said, "Hands off!" Then, while he was down, someone realized that the whole thing was being recorded, and someone said that no recording was allowed in "this area."
So, what I got out of that was a plan to take anyone into the room and then the hallway to arrest them without a witness as to how it was done. They all seemed to know where they were going. I think that because he announced he was SENATOR Alex Padilla, they had pause to think about what they were doing. They started backing him up before he quickly announced who he is, and they already had hands on him. This is no excuse for them, and they made a duly elected US Senator lie on the floor while he was handcuffed.
I've watched hundreds of suspects get handcuffed, where the cops yelled, "Stop resisting!" while they made it impossible for the person to put their hands behind their backs on the ground. That's so they can charge the person with obstruction. They told Padilla to put his hands behind his back, and he told them something to the effect that perhaps he couldn't, and they worked it out. I must say, Padilla is well schooled and trained for non-violent surrender. He did hold the card up his sleeve. I'd effing sue them for this.
I am reminded of a video I saw where a commentator was talking, I think about responsibility, and he said he was now going to practice civil disobedience. He began walking up to the speaker's podium where he was tackled and handcuffed just for walking up.
So, I think that's what I saw, except that I find it cowardly that she wasn't going to take questions. Why hold a presser when you don't want to be pressed? Padilla was doing his job. He didn't have to show up there. But he's on the committee, and here was an opportunity to do his job. California is proud of Senator Alex Padilla. I hope he sues for his civil rights.
I read his history. He has a degree in mechanical engineering from MIT. Now, that's smart.

is not the assault. Yes, that's terrible and unacceptable in any democracy. But understand, the Senator was listening to the Secretary. He only rose to question her when she said with no ambiguity whatsoever that the whole purpose of invading Los Angeles is to force regime change. In their twisted minds, they fully intend to keep the Marines and Guard in occupation of the city until the Mayor and Governor are forced to resign. That is when the Senator rose to ask his questions.
Need I mention that those two were elected by the will of the people?

(13,751 posts)that Democrats are the "enemy within" the US that need to be dealt with through force. They also believe that we are in a "post-Constitutional" era, where the Constitution should no longer apply and the President has total power.
We need to demonstrate our counter force with our numbers, and the No Kings protests tomorrow should be vast and dwarf any Federal forces that try to intimidate us.

There are apps that supposedly allow someone to post the same message across platforms (including Threads too). I don't have an account with any of them but will look at what is available to view as a web version though!

Umm... just one question...
WHEN?????
Because doing so after they have instilled their technocratic oligarchy isn't going to accomplish anything. Once they initiate martial law over whatever incident they decide to blow out of proportion, I doubt you will get the chance before the jackboots come out.
