I just want to say thank you to all the DUers who went to the No Kings protests in their towns today

and reported back to us with their experiences, signs and pictures. I've been following it all day long here. Getting a first hand account from participants is so much more accurate and better than what's on TV.

I've been so disheartened, disillusioned and depressed about everything since the election, but I'm finally starting to feel a little bit of optimism and hope. Maybe all is not completely lost after all!

DUers are the best!

It was a huge gathering!!!!! and damn, our local news outlets are not showing how many of us there were. La Crosse, Wi……it was huge. I love’d being there, and found friends who love this country and hate what it’s going through now.

I'll be working a table at Pride Iowa City next week for an open and affirming church.

Trying to let our LGBTQ+ friends that people who are real Christians know that Jesus said "love them all. Welcome them all. All are welcome at the table."

Knowing the hateful anti-LGBTQ+ legislation going through Iowa and the feds, I could only do one of the two events.

Grateful for all the people who protested against Mango Mussolini and for democracy.

You all give me hope too... not on all days. But definitely today.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
