(64,655 posts)Not sure where your comment came from, but I don't know anybody who is predicting weather 100 years out. Now, they can predict some things about weather like whether they expect more and larger storms and variations in rainfall patterns and drought patterns.

(77,306 posts)...climatologists add a lot of disclaimers to any predictions over 20 or 25 years.
I think with things like drought probabilities though, they're pretty confident at 5 years, maybe up to 10.
With atmospheric warming being a function of CO2 concentration and inarguable thermodynamic principles, they can probably accurately project temperature to a high degree of precision out 50 years, and that would make greater chances of major storms an unavoidable outcome.
