There is a definite possibility that he envisioned his multiple murders of Democrats as a source of money. Fools donated over a million dollars for Mangione's defense. It is possible that the same people would open their wallets even wider. Add to that the reality of republicans finding his actions acceptable, no more criminal than running down protesters with a vehicle.
