The flavour of a gin and tonic may be impacted by climate change, scientists have found.
Volatile weather patterns, made more likely by climate breakdown, could change the taste of juniper berries, which are the key botanical that give gin its distinctive taste.
Scientists from Heriot-Watt Universitys International Centre for Brewing and Distilling (ICBD) have found that changing weather patterns may be altering the flavour compounds in the berries.

(1,117 posts)I do Bnmbay regular (not sapphire) lately because it's less expensive in large quantities. My favorite is a local craft distiller, Du Nord, but I can't afford it for stocking up. And I am stocking up.
What about the actual berries? I have a small stock of Penzey;s juniper berries for sauerbraten. Should I get more now?
