You learned or else. I came out of it pretty well adjusted. Left the clutches of Catholic School after the Sixth Grade. The difference between Parochial and Public School was unsettling (1967.) The education worked out but the easy going pace, by comparison, took a little getting used to. I had great teachers, mentors, inspirers through 16 years of school. Very lucky indeed.
