Lander has 11.4 percent of the vote. If this sticks and the vast majority of Landers voters went to Mamdani (they cross endorsed each other), then Mamdani likely wins. Maybe easily.
Also since The Working Families Party endorsed him, he is also likely to get most of Adrienne Adams votes.

(10,416 posts)Regardless, if Mamdani can maintain a lead on the first round, then I think he likely wins once the ranked choice kicks in. We shall see.

(10,416 posts)I'd say at this point, it is at least 90% likely Mamdani wins the nomination.
SSJVegeta
(3,132 posts)Iw as thinking if he could just keep his deficit against Cuomo to Single digits, he'd have a good shot at winning in the last round. But at this point, he might basically wrap up the nomination tonight considering where the remaining ranked choice votes are coming from and who endorsed him.

(3,132 posts)And his lead in Staten Island very low?
🤔
Wiz Imp
(10,416 posts)and in Staten Island it is very close to 1 to 1. I would guess there are higher percentage of "conservative" Democrats in the Bronx, while in Staten Island those folks are more likely to be registered as Republicans.

(6,641 posts)A Muslim son of immigrants might become mayor of NYC in part because he cross endorsed and supported a Jewish candidate and Black candidate, and vice versa.

It's a beautiful American story for the rest of us. A nightmare for all the right people ;)
It's so New York.

(53,379 posts)And the right wing media are going to go apeshit over him.
They'll squawk about anything to distract from the non-stop failures of the GOP/MAGA party.
SO New York!!!!

(25,126 posts)But Cuomo should never again have a seat at the table.
In November, as always, I'll vote a straight Democratic ticket. Anything is better than a Reublican.
