Tornado Hits Mobile, Ala.; 'Severe Damage' Confirmed

At least 10 homes suffered significant damage or were destroyed, according to the Red Cross.

Jeez...I was sound asleep and did not even know about this till now.....a winter tornado?????

They both live near Fairhope, on the east side of Mobile Bay. Sounds like the tornado was on the other side (Saraland side) of Mobile.

I lived in Mobile for a few years, but later moved a tad further inland, and am happily parked in a corner of the state which rarely gets severe weather directly.
Knock on wood.

fairhope is lovely..do you get a chance to visit your sister often?

I have - indeed - visited my sister in Fairhope (actually, Point Clear). I love the Gulf coast.
