The White House has framed the upset victory by Mamdani, who could become New York City's first Muslim and Indian American mayor, as evidence of uncontrolled migration, aligning with the White House's broader strategy of keeping border policy at the center of the national conversation. Responding to the results, the NYYRC wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "A CALL TO ACTION FROM THE NYYRC. The radical Zohran Mamdani cannot be allowed to destroy our beloved city of New York.

"The Communist Control Act lets President Trump revoke Zohran Mamdani's citizenship and promptly deport him. The time for action is now—Stephen Miller and Thomas Homan, New York is counting on you."

Miller is the White House deputy chief of staff and homeland security adviser, and Homan is Trump's border czar. Miller framed Mamdani's upset victory as a result of a failure to control migration.

AOC would give up her House seat and then lose (so they hope) the Dem primary, thus taking her completely out of elected office, perhaps on a permanent basis, as she has little hope to move up in House leadership (too many centrists and conservadems will be there to put paid to those hopes) so she would likely not try and regain her House seat.

She is the big scalp a certain type of anti-prog Dem dreams of. The minute Sanders is no longer in the Senate, AOC becomes the main face of Democratic Party progressivism. Anti-prog Dems would go into ecstasy if AOC was removed from the elected office stage.
