Recently, a particular commercial for Walmart keeps popping up. Something to do with cloggers/square dancers (I usually mute the commercials, so not really sure what the actors are dancing to). What strikes me about this particular ad is how... creepy... all the actors look. Just very off putting.
Any one else seen this ad?

(5,545 posts)I haven't seen it, but I searched for: "Walmart square dancing commercial".
It seems to me like it was made by AI. But who approves this junk before it is released? If this is where AI is taking us I think that the difference in human culture between 2020 and 2050 will be greater than between 1000 and 2020. And not in a positive way.

(5,545 posts)seems surrealistic to me, but not in an interesting way. As if a committee of consultants had taken random lines from Rimbaud and Borges and had David Lynch film it.

(1,919 posts)I know, it goes to Google, but it also goes to pay for the content providers as well.
And since this is the only TV I pay for, it is pretty much the only thing that I watch,
i know this didnt answer your question, I was just mentioning this because that $14 is the best money I spend on subs.

(4,735 posts)So I put up with the ads on YouTube. As soon as I can skip them, I usually do. I find most ads to be incredibly stupid and condesending.

(4,735 posts)I'm not a horror genre fan at all. If that commercial was their version of a horror spin off, it's a great way to discourage a lot of people from shopping at their store, in addition to all the other reasons not to shop there.

I don't find it creepy, myself. It's just different from what people might usually expect from a Walmart ad.
Walter Goggins was great in White Lotus, btw.
