(5,882 posts)1) They feel a sense of superiority over other Hispanics and,
2) like other Hispanics for T, they voted solely on their beliefs that abortion is evil + LGBT + trans are evil.
We cannot tolerate such narrow mindedness.

(8,183 posts)Just like other ethnic rivalry and hatred against genetically linked communities in the ME, and elsewhere. It;s hard to be sympathetic in this case as well.

(60,439 posts)I speak Spanish. Been doing it all day, in fact (full disclosure, Im in Madrid for work, so DUH
).
Anyone who knows Spanish well would recognize my Spain accent immediately. I have lived and gone to school in Spain, although Im an Anglo. But I doubt the thugs hired by ICE to their dirty work could order a taco in Cuernavaca, much less distinguish between American versions of Spanish and continental European Spanish.

(10,357 posts)A lot of South Florida emigrees liked to pinch their pale skins and told themselves that they were just as white or whiter than many of DJTs Anglo Caucasian supporters and thought that they were immune from being rounded up by ICE agents for deportation. They continued to vote for Republicans and MAGA politicians despite the fact that racism and xenophobia had again become acceptable among the national and state Republican parties. Their bigotry and arrogance blinded them, and now theyre reaping the whirlwind. I cant say as I feel very sympathetic.
Like many Anglos say Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas.
