Ron Filipkowski on bluesky just now. What's this all about you might ask?
Well....apparently Elon just tweeted that "The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country. Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future."
Personally, I think he's just trying to keep the heat off himself when/if this thing passes.

(80,335 posts)Elon Musk took aim at President Donald Trumps Big Beautiful Bill on Saturday as lawmakers were making their way through a new draft of the budget.
The latest Senate draft bill will destroy millions of jobs in America and cause immense strategic harm to our country! Musk wrote on X just a few weeks after leaving his special government job with DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency). Utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future.
Musks statement came in response to an X post from Jesse D. Jenkins noting that the latest draft of the bill, which senators received early on Saturday morning, raises taxes on all wind and solar projects that havent begun construction today unless they are placed service by end of 2027.

lavish praise of Musk (deleted)
By comparison, Trump has none of Musks business acumen or his attention span. Since the inauguration, he has run the government just like he operated his own business, raising mountains of debt and betraying employees, while escaping unscathed himself.
What is the result of this meeting of company builder and medieval monarch? Its the opposite of what was promised: a US budget that has ballooned, debt levels that will only rise and crushing interest payments that make the country vulnerable to its largest creditors Japan and China.
One word of advice for those in Silicon Valley who followed Musks lead and sided with Trump. Leave. Dont delude yourself that you are working to make crypto a part of global finance, minimising artificial intelligence regulation, helping start-up companies or protecting the interests of Silicon Valley. You have no sway. You are just cannon fodder.
Smart asses been f---ed over royally. They need research and foreign visa labor.

(199 posts)taxpayer money does not make him the next Trillionaire. Its the monthly levy all his Tesla owners must pay him to keep getting the locked software updates his cars need to run . The result is that his stock is valued at 149 times earnings. Fords P/E ratio is by contrast 6:1. Not a market bet on the future company, that equation is how its done, folks.
BTW, if you break the lock you go to jail.

(4,613 posts)Our reverence of Musks intelligence comes from our nations pathological relationship with wealth. If Musk were as poor as you or me, folks wouldnt consider him brilliant; theyd consider him dangerous, which he is.
