My husband has Type 1 diabetes. Originally diagnosed as Type 2, but either things changed or the original dx was incortect. Before that, I didn't know that Type 1 could show up so late in life. (They used to call it "juvenile" diabetes, because it was usually diagnosed in kids.)

I wonder how long it will be before islet transplants are generally avaiable. That would be a life changer for him!
