...the .01% have scraped literally TRILLIONS out of the real economy, while most of the rest of us have faced increasing deprivation despite doubling the GNP. If fairness were a consideration, the "BBB" should dramatically INCREASE taxes on the .01% for the next several decades, because that's how long it would take for us to get back to where we should be.

PS: The "BBB" as usual increases Defense spending, despite the fact that the Pentagon has failed every audit of it ever attempted (well I haven't verified that, but at least the last 7 audits, and that's too many).

And note, when they talk about Defense spending, they nearly always break out spending on Veterans, which really should be included in Defense costs.

Schumer is forcing the bill to be read in its entirety on the senate floor, then there will be 10 hours of required debate, so the earliest a final vote can be taken is tomorrow.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
