RE: Trump, Republicans, and the new era of unrepentant racism. We treat vermin like vermin, correct?

This post was spurred by the following:

It mentions a few specifics, like Andy Ogles' (R-TN) racist tweet about Zohran Mamdani.

The thing is, Ogles and Trump and utter douchebags like Tommy Tuberville and Mike Lee shoot from the hip and:

1). Don't give a flying fuck about what you think
2). Are playing to an "audience of 1" (Trump) and, in a secondary manner, high-fiving the MAGAts, although Trump is their #1 priority

So I think we just need to throw it back at them to treat them like the scumbags they are, to give up all affinity for taking the higher ground.

It's a knife fight in the dirtiest back alley in America.

These people are not our friends, they don't give a fuck about "bipartisanship."

We have to WANT what WE want MORE than THEY want what THEY want, we have to fight for it, and when they shit on the halls of Congress, we need to rub their noses in it, because that's the only way they'll ever learn.

Trump ain't Jesus. He's just a predator who's learned how to leverage fear and manipulatio n.

I don't think he's that "principled" or "motivated."

I do believe he hates Obama with the intensity of 1000 white-hot suns, and that he'll never get over the White House Correspondents Dinner jabs until the day he dies. But he's hated people of color his whole life, from marking "C" for "Colored" on apartment applications from African Americans when he worked for his father to that full page NYT ad calling for the execution of the (innocent) Central Park Five.

The people who tarred and feathered and lynched black people, the ones who put up "Whites Only" signs on drinking fountains and restaurants, they never really went away. They retreated to the shadows and had kids and grandkids and "Pied Piper" Trump lured them back into the light so he could get their votes and pick their pockets.

But when it comes to the day to day effort required to fan those flames, I think Trump would rather be on the golf course, and let Miller wear the white hood.

but the party’s base wouldn’t have it.

Before you jump on my case, remember that Dubya left the White House fifteen years ago. Fifteen years ago, not yesterday, not last week, not last month, but fifteen years ago. That’s proven to be more than ample time for racism to permeate the Republican Party from top to bottom, especially with a large faction of it already racist and nativist and with the Far Right fanning the flames..

And should some well-meaning (Or clueless or both) Republican apologist cite the—ahem—noble example of the Bushes, they need to be put down with the brutal truth: “That was then, this is now” and the Bush faction is no longer calling the shots. The Republican Party is Trump’s party.

We need to stop RESPONDING and start taking control of the messaging. The SECOND that fucking bill passes, we need to be the "town crier" and ride our horses through town and let people know exactly why they can no longer see a doctor when they need to. And the same for every other heinous act committed by Trump's goons.
