At the rate things are going for us vs trump, I believe they will be giving him a Nobel.

To me, the entire world seems to be upside-down enough to do it.

At this point it wouldn't surprise me in the least. He seems to get pretty much whatever he wants.

was extremely controversial even at the time. Kissinger himself considered turning it down, saying "I would say that anything Lê Đức Thọ is eligible for, there must be something wrong with it." Thọ, in turn, did decline the prize, stating that "such bourgeois sentimentalities" were not for him, citing the fact that the Paris Peace Accords had not yet stopped the fighting in Vietnam. Two of the members of the Nobel committee resigned in protest, and later on the remaining members expressed doubt about the award. After the fall of Saigon Kissinger tried to return the prize but the committee declined his offer. The award to Kissinger and Thọ was an ongoing embarrassment for the Nobel Committee and I doubt they will make any similar mistake again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973_Nobel_Peace_Prize
