Normally this bill would be political suicide by the Republican Party

However, will Fox and the right-wing echo chamber be able to convice the zombies that it is all Biden’s fault for infrastructure and pandemic spending?

PS: I don't want ever hear any Republican say the word deficit again!

I don't think there's any way to spin this. They're trying to delay the results till after the midterm sport.People will know about what's coming and there's no way to hide it

Which is exactly how they’re governing.

It has me more than a little concerned.

If we can’t, then . . . . , well, we’ve really failed at messaging.

Not sure criticizing trump and his henchmen will gain us much, because it hasn’t worked very well so far. So we need to come up with a good sounding plan quickly, like a Project 2026/2028. Should have been done before.

his magat cult has less reason to show up and vote--- and remember their poor record
in the midterms of 2018 (when the "incumbent party backlash" gave us back the House)
and the 2022 midterms (when the predicted Democratic "obliteration" failed to occur as predicted)...

Meanwhile, they have already lost the independent "center",
and THOSE people are going to be pissed off, and voting!

So it matters less what the magat true believers think,
we really don't need to change any of THEIR minds,
because many fewer of them will bother to vote in 2026!

(And YES, I agree that we ought to have our own 2026/2028 "project"!)

in response to a question about the Shrub admin budget deficits....

I still remember that quote. It ought to be played back to the current GQB deficit extremists...

WRECK the budget when they have power, and blame it on the Democrats---
so when the Democrats have power, they can resist any spending the Democrats want to do---

and when the GQP is in power again, they scream about deficits while making them larger--- (BBB)
while simultaneously trying to wreck the social safety net,
which they have wanted to do since FDR was president, and they screamed about "socialism"---

In the last relationship I was in, where I had influence over young children,
I taught them "all Republicans are liars!"--

I was half-right, I should have taught them
"all Republicans are lying hypocrites!"

by not taking more advantage of the anti-abortion and anti-gay movements
for his own political advantage--- but Junior did not repeat that "mistake"...
thus his own anti-gay agenda

I do sort of appreciate or admire one quality about Bush Jr.--
after leaving office he has mostly kept his mouth shut---

although with the margin of victory for his successor President Obama,
that was rather a complete repudiation of the Bush years,
so that may have had much to do with shutting his mouth---
and he probably appreciated Obama for not having him prosecuted
for war crimes, which was a mistake on the part of President Obama--
'think about the future, not the past'

whether or not he has been blessedly silent afterwards and became a mediocre painter

but I still was happy not to have to hear much about him after he left office---
in contrast to the later Republican criminal who began his next presidential campaign of lies
before he had even vacated the White House....

All the GOP has to do by the end of 2026 is convince America that the Democrats are to blame for whatever is wrong in their lives. They have a lot of practice at this. Over 90% of the media is owned by people who prefer the GOP.

Most people will blame whoever is in office at the moment something bad happens.

The right wing media isn't discussing this at all really.

Trump will STILL be in office if he is still alive---
if he dies, it will fall upon Vance.... so one or the other will reap what they have sown...
IF they manage to pass the bill--- if the Senate does with what they have planned,
I think it may fail in the House--- but we shall have to wait and see.

If the voters aren't paying attention before 2026 and the GQP DOES manage to pass
some version of what they want to pass,
the voters will certainly be FEELING it before the 2028 election!!!!

I hope the bill ultimately fails, but if it doesn't,
they WILL pay the price for it.... 2018 will seem like a 'small setback'
compared to the whirlwind they are sowing for themselves!
