The office of Secretary of Defense has always been held with honor and dignity. Until now.

While some of these Defense Secretary's are liars--I think the OFFICE of Defense had a lot of credibility--but not now.

“Jennifer, you’re about the worst.”

May Reichsmarschall Kegsbreath get all he so richly deserves.

We’ve had a number of responsible Secretaries of Defense, to be sure. But there have been plenty of lack-wits and criminals in the mix. Rumsfeld was a murderous criminal who was in love with fighting wars and pinching pennies, miring us in failed Middle East wars on lie after lie. McNamara was a Ford “whiz-kid” zealot (sound like any technocraps in today’s gang of criminals?) in love with death, measuring “success” in corpses but never having had a strategy to “win” the war. There are other (dis)honorable mentions.

Hegseth is certainly an outstanding candidate in this field of incompetents, but he’s hardly alone in having zero competence or credibility.

Cheney and Rumsfeld were among the architects of the first Gulf War and the Iraq debacle respectively, Weinberger was indicted for lying to Congress and obstructing investigations of the Iran–Contra scandal, and McNamara supported the Bay of Pigs invasion and escalated the Vietnam war. They weren't incompetent loudmouth drunks like Kegsbreath, but honor? Maybe not so much.

Donald J. Trump sets the tone for his entire cabinet. Since he has no honor or dignity, himself, it stands to reason that his cabinet choices will share his shortcomings.

And so they do.

are based exclusively on loyalty to him personally, with extra points for having worked at Fox and, for women, having the Mar-A-Lago Face and plenty of cleavage. Incompetence is guaranteed.
