"hired" meaning participating at any level, including short term programs/events/panels.

Movie reviewer Dan talks about losing an opportunity because he posted a video about Trump's plan to oppose tariffs on movies. No abuse of Trump, just his calm analysis of the issue. Others had expressed support of LGBT people.

He's very careful not to mention the details of "the opportunity"... some kind of panel or program. He and the LGBT supporters were dropped when their opinions became known.

He talks about it in the first 5 minutes of this video.
