Punishing scholarship and rebuking truth

The Heritage Foundation toad interviewed tries to diminish American slavery through "whataboutism," pointing to worldwide history. I don't know if the journalist countered by noting how many of those other nations withdrew from the importation of captive Africans before the U.S. did, or how the number of imported captives is only part of the story with American-born slaves comprising larger and larger percentages after the early 1800s.

Gonzalez also ignores how this perversion of history as part of Project 2025 is exactly like similar efforts in authoritarian nations like his native Cuba.
