Liberty Enlightening the World (her actual name) was actually not originally meant to be a symbolic welcome to immigrants, even though it quickly became that. It was representing the idea of American liberty for our centenary and the republican ideals of self government (France being a sister Republic and all) with the book saying 1776 (in Roman Numerals) and the broken chain.

Today I am moving the Statue of Liberty to Mar a Lago because it’s time to retire it. You know, it was actually a gift from the French. No one knows that. The French probably forgot too. And we’re not interested in DEI. Clearly a woman holding a book. What is she? A cat lady? JD said that. Smart guy. He’s absolutely right. anyways. It’s now being moved to Mar a Lago and we’ll find some new buyers for it. I’m sure the Saudis are interested in making a deal. I know the democrats and fake news times will find a way to complain.
