A new JPMorgan Chase analysis finds that a critical group of U.S. employers would face a direct cost of $82.3 billion from President Trump’s current tariff plans, a sum that could be potentially managed through price hikes, layoffs, hiring freezes or lower profit margins, the AP reports.

Layoffs or hiring freezes? Ridiculous.
They're far more likely to just increase prices.
The tariffs will make prices go up, just like every expert said they would. And, the only logical way to "manage" this $80+ billion is to pass the cost on.

CEOs are happy to raise prices under the cover of any excuse.

...using your logic regarding AI & wages, there's nothing to stop them from raising prices anyway, increasing margins, not tolerating lower ones.
Makes the line to which I objected even sillier.

Because we pay for it. This is a "deal" in Trump's mind. LOL.
