When they say "abortion is not the only issue," what do you say?

It is infuriating to have a political discussion with these people. What do you say to them, without a full diatribe or just going silent?

I'm thinking it's not worth my time, but I'd be interested in what other DUers have to say.

and you're infuriated that anyone could disagree? ie, does "these people" mean "anyone who think there are issues other than abortion", or does "these people" mean a different group?

3. When I mention abortion rights being at the top of my political agenda, along with other issues of great concern.

Somehow, abortion rights are considered of lesser importance than foreign policy, or education issues, or the economy. Especially the economy. Which is why I frame abortion rights as an economic issue but it seems that the word "abortion" is somehow a discussion ender.

Your order of importance differs. It doesn't seem surprising that someone could think that other issues rank above abortion (eg Trump's attempt to get king-like power, and the Supreme Court going along with it).

Can you imagine saying "the economy isn't the only issue." Of course it's not! But abortion gets treated as a lesser consideration. And of course abortion IS an economic issue also! But somehow that doesn't register with these people...
