IA-GOV. IA-AG: Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird (R) announces she will not run for governor
DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird announced she is not running for governor.
Instead, Bird shared she is running for re-election for Iowa Attorney General in 2026.
“I was born and raised on a farm, and one thing I know is that you don’t stop halfway through a job,” Bird said in a statement shared on Facebook. “We have accomplished big victories - stopping scammers, fighting for victims, standing up for law enforcement and defending our constitutional rights. But, there is still more work to do.”
Bird said she plans to support the Republican nominee for governor, as well as the entire Republican ticket in Iowa.
