Do we need to revisit "Atlas Shrugged"?

Maybe it’s time for workers to consider a kind of “falling out of society” if we aren’t on board for what passes for life in the USA.

It’s not possible for everyone but for those who can, tune out what’s being shoved down our throats (lies lies and damned job statistics!) and refuse to keep consuming and paying attention to the shitshow. Work less, spend less, hug your loved ones more ...

Big industrialists aren’t the only ones who can shrug.

where there was a ? ~ 100 page diatribe that made me scream ‘where was her editor?’

Then I realized she painted her protagonist as an ethical capitalist - what the market will bear type - completely ludicrous, and the slime weasels were only on the other side whining. It was disgusting.

How anyone could come away from that book thinking she was in her right mind was beyond me.

Of course she was a hypocrite, taking the social safety net she had decried. Her glorifying a murderer was disgusting as well.

It’s been at least a half century since I picked up that book and I have forgotten a lot, but not my disgust for what she represented and those who became her acolytes.

They are getting everything they said they wanted. May it blow up in their faces and not ours.

essentially the only tv we watch is jeopardy

we only buy rent, groceries, utilities, fuel/maintenance

we hike, cook, read, camp, volunteer

our clothes are almost exclusively from thrift stores

Might bring the economy to a screeching halt, but King Taco would bust both sphincters with joy.
