I am torn about whether or not to fly the flag...

upside down tomorrow on the 4th.
Do I fly it upside down to signal distress? The truth is that those with any decency know that it is in distress. If someone doesn’t know that by now then they will never get it.
No. I will fly my flag right side up and not allow its meaning and honor to be stolen by thugs. More importantly, sending a signal about distress is asking for someone to help. That’s bullshit. No one is going to help us. The outcome is entirely up to us. If only we resist. If only you resist.
I will fly my flag as it was intended and, on the same pole, the first flag with 13 States from 1776 will be on display. I am claiming both flags though the 1776 flag is more relevant today.
As in 1776, it is only when individuals gather together for a just cause can righteousness win.

I wish I had a New York one. I would fly that.

I am wearing all black tomorrow though. I am in mourning for the country that even though it never achieved all it's ideals, at least made some effort to reach them. Now our government and a good portion of our populace aren't even pretending to care about liberty and justice for all.

Unless those values are resuscitated, i won't be celebrating the country's birthday again, but grieving it's loss.

Not even going to our annual fireworks. It may not accomplish anything except to help me feel better.

So many people have used the upside down flag as a political statement that it's pretty useless now as an actual distress signal.
