Did you get the email from Social Security administration saying what a great thing the big beautiful Bill passing

Was?

I tried to post a picture of it here, but I don’t know how to do that. How disgusting that Nazis run the SSA now .

https://blog.ssa.gov/social-security-applauds-passage-of-legislation-providing-historic-tax-relief-for-seniors/

I know what I’m doing, I checked the email address before I posted it, this is from the SSA

Just do a Google, Search “SSA applauds, big beautiful, Bill”

You will only get the email if you are subscribed to all subscriptions for SSA as I am.

One last time, if you don’t trust the link, that’s fine. Just do a Google search for it. You will find it. You will see that this is really from them.

Why would anyone be surprised, the maga filth run the SSA

Celebrating the passage of the bill and declaring that there will be no taxes on SS for 90% of recipients and an enhanced deduction (whatever that means) for retirees 65 and older.

WTF!

I understand what you mean about the election rigging. I find Greg Palast's videos completely persuasive and I wish that the Democratic party would have supported him at the highest level. But with the supremacist court and the maga movement it would have been incredibly difficult to achieve any kind of justice. Everyone says "That would be so divisive" LMFAO, WE'RE ALREADY THERE!

thousand dollar increase in the standard exemption for those over 65. I bet that this 90% is just some bs number Trump came up with on the fly.

Projections1 show that an annual average of about 56 percent of beneficiary families will owe federal income tax on their benefits from 2015 through 2050

Among beneficiary families that owe income tax on their benefits, the median percentage of benefits owed as income taxes will increase from about 11 percent in 2015 to 12 percent in 2025 and remain stable through 2050.

https://www.ssa.gov/policy/docs/research-summaries/income-taxes-on-benefits.html

For now, about 2 out of every 5 Social Security recipients will pay federal income taxes on their benefits, usually because they have other income in addition to their benefits, according to the IRS

. . . Social Security benefits to be taxed is not high. If there is somewhere around $16,000 in other income, the Social Security benefits start to get taxed. If the other other income is only a little over the threshold, then only a small percentage of the Social Security benefits gets added to the net income which is taxed pursuant to Form 1940.

It's total propaganda. More imitation of third world dictator stuff. This makes me really mad. It's also a lie:

https://www.fidelity.com/learning-center/personal-finance/one-big-beautiful-bill

What’s inside the new tax law?

Temporary provisions good for 4 years
In addition to the permanent provisions, the legislation includes numerous temporary deductions and credits good only for tax years 2025 through 2028, including:

An added senior tax deduction. People who are age 65 and older will get an additional $6,000 deduction that begins to phase out at incomes of $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers. Note: The enhanced deduction would be in addition to the $2,000 single filers and $3,200 married filers are currently able to deduct if they are 65 or older.

What isn't in the new law?
No taxes on Social Security. The legislation does not include President Trump's proposal to eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits, which are taxable up to 85% for individuals with income of more than $34,000 or a couple with combined income of $44,000 or more. However, the additional $6,000 deduction for people who are 65 and older may help offset taxes on Social Security benefits for some individuals with income at these thresholds for the next 4 years.

So not only was eliminating taxes on SS benefits a lie, the alternative measure which is supposed to help seniors is only temporary for 4 years. Not only that but check this out:

https://apnews.com/article/trump-congress-big-bill-tax-social-security-adea287e00c7c553f69f3667d3ef78cc
Touting a new Council of Economic Advisers analysis, the White House said Tuesday that “88% of all seniors who receive Social Security — will pay NO TAX on their Social Security benefits,” going on to say that the Senate proposal’s $6,000 senior deduction “is estimated to benefit 33.9 million seniors, including seniors not claiming Social Security. The deduction yields an average increase in after-tax income of $670 per senior who benefits from it.”

The average benefit is a whopping $670. Now, I know, even $670 would be a welcome benefit for many seniors. However, since that is the average benefit, those with lower income will see even lower benefits than that. Not exactly the windfall that Trump was promising, is it?
