Here is my thoughts on how this all went down?

The bill was going to pass no matter what GOBer who say they wanted to voted against it.
The likes of Tillis ranting about how bad he feels for constituents, Murkowski making deals behind closed doors so her state would get relief?

But Don Beacon of Nebraska? He slid under the radar? He announced his retirement before he voted yes on the bill, never batting an eye on what he was going to do.

My thoughts are, he knew he was going to be ousted either by the voters in Nebraska or face a Trump challenger thus he didn’t want to labeled as a loser. Yes, in the last few months, he was a critic against Trump and his words weren’t enough to make any difference.

These a few indications of Trump being a bully in his own unique way.

I’m sure there are many other instances of the blatant disregard by those who gave in just to save their lame asses!

Folks, that why they call it a dictatorship in waiting!

It is the ultimate in cowardice.

But for decades, battered Democrat syndrome -- persistent fear of "backlash" and name calling from the reactionary right -- have led far to many on "our side" to take a "can't win, won't fight" stance when principle demanded action.

Bullying "works" on the playground. And tragically, it works in the halls of Congress far too often.

We didn't get here overnight. It has taken time for some Dems to realize they'll be "battered" whatever they do, so they might as well stand up for principles they are passionate about.

I don't know what it will take for Republicans that have any sense of morality left to recover from battered Republican syndrome. (If any of them actually have any humanity left.)

Minorities and women will bear the brunt. Poor white districts will not get hit as hard as long as there is a GOP governor who controls the purse for cities and counties within the state. That's how they make the cuts saleable to GOP voters. It's all hidden from public. Most white farmers will get huge subsidies again. They will bitch and complain all the way to the bank. Bible belt schools will get help from state coffers that no one will know about.

For trump....He has vanquished every republican that has ever crossed him.

He has ended far more republican careers than Democratic careers.
