What I wrote on my Facebook timeline for ALL to see.

Happy 4th of July memes I am seeing on my feed. What is so happy about this particular 4th of July after what happened yesterday in the House of Representatives?

Are we celebrating the fact that our Democracy is fragile? That there may NOT be any more elections?

Are we celebrating the fact that over 16 million Seniors, Seniors in Nursing homes, the sick, disabled Adults and children, working low-income workers are going to LOSE their access to Medicaid and SNAP? (Meals on Wheels program has already been eliminated.)

Are we celebrating the fact that Rural Community Hospitals and Clinics are going to close, medical people will be unemployed, and people denied health care services who do not live in more urban areas?

Are we celebrating the fact that the new detention centers for immigrants and those deemed "enemies of the State" and those who oppose this Administration and are critical of it, that are unsafe and closed to those who want to inspect them? The new Alligator Alcatraz in the middle of the Florida Everglades already was flooding hours after Trump, Kristi Noem, and Ron DeSantis did their photo op when a storm came through. Imagine when a hurricane hits the area and immigrants lose their lives!

Are we celebrating the fact that the American Farmer who will see their incomes drop because of the tariffs Trump has imposed closing Foreign markets to them for their crops and the shutting down of USAID(which Farmers factored in for their income)?

Are we celebrating the CRUELTY this Administration will be inflicting on even more millions of people in the coming months be it regarding our access to vaccines, accurate weather information, our rights and freedoms, and more?

I apologize for this rant ONLY because I want the FACTS to be known that the America I grew up in, the America I was proud of, the America I LOVED, the America I worked for for my grown children and their children, is being slowly snatched away from them by GREED and POWER held by a few over the many. I VOTED my principles and values for a BETTER America for ALL Americans regardless of political party affiliation. NOT FOR THIS!

Please keep comments civil and on topic. I find little to celebrate this July 4th and the days going forward.

Feel free to borrow this and spread to as many people as you are able. If this country of ours is to survive, it will be up to us, WE THE PEOPLE!

... that Trump TOLD everyone exactly what his plans for a second term were going to be: RETRIBUTION was the word he used. He couched it in phrases that made it seem to his dimwitted cult members that he would be the chainsaw for their retribution, though, from the git-go, it was, as it always is, all about Trump's retribution for an election he lost. As for him accepting the fact of that loss... C'mon, do you really think that miserable shitweasel has the strength of character to EVER admit he lost?
He's burning the nation to the ground out of vile, infantile spite. He is, and always has been, rotten down to his DNA, devoid of any redeeming qualities whatsoever. He's never given a moment's thought to the harm he's inflicting, even on his most ardent supporters, who are too dirt stupid to realize, too weak to admit, or both, that he doesn't give two shits about them. He's even said it out loud, for chrissakes! "I don't care about you; I just want your votes!" And the idiots cheered.
As the wise philosopher and comedian, Ron White so sagely observed, "Ya can't fix stupid!"

The answer to that question largely depends on We The People.

GOOD TROUBLE may be required.

"if you don't like it here DemoRAT..why don't you move somewhere else"
That one is my favorite. Sure. I'll pack up my house and family and just (Somehow)
talk to another country to let me be a Magic citizen.
So the idiots want us to move across the world but get pissed off when somebody else wants to move
to the good ol' USA. Oh Brother.

My friends know where I stand on issues. I know how to keep things civil as I tear down their arguments from those who differ with me. They know not to bully me.

Both of my Grandfathers were foreign born. My maternal great-grandparents came from near Florence, Italy. My late husband's paternal grandparents were from Palermo, Sicily. His maternal great-grandparents from the UK and Germany.

We can all trace our ancestral linage to 2 to 3 generations of immigrants who came from somewhere else in the world to seek a better life in the United States. For anyone to say, "If you do not like living here(the USA), then move somewhere else" does NOT understand the reasons why their ancestors came here, rather than stay in the countries of their birth.

You cannot sure STUPID!

Unjustly treated people in this country, and probably always greed and corruption in our government. There has, had been progress toward correcting those abuses, but the level of hypocrisy, criminality, injustice has hit a high I never before dreamed possible. It really makes me sick, physically and spiritually to see the level of depravity so publicly on display by this administration, the republican party, and our Supreme court.

I figure that if even one person is influenced or is given some talking points - it’s worth being labeled “obnoxious.” Between that and protesting I’m going down fighting!
