I'm in mourning today after watching the big, ugly bill get passed and aware of the cruel ramifications.

So many will be negatively impacted by the sheer cruelty of cutting health care, SNAP, CHIP, etc. just so megadonors and ultra-wealthy can enjoy their tax cut (now permanent). Immigrants, veterans, Medicaid and Medicare recipients, rural health care clinics (patients and employees) will all be hurt by this.
This was a travesty and it's 900 plus pages have "with malice aforethought" undermined those who need it most. Once again, the cruelty is the point.
And Drumpf holds a rally and says: "They hate Trump. That's ok, I hate them too." Now that's presidential Mr. Divider in Chief.

Hakeem did his best, and for that I am grateful.

1. I feel kinda down about today, too.

This isn’t America any more. Far from it.

I get so angry when people, acquaintances, relatives, say to me “What are you so upset about? You take things too seriously. Nothing bad is going to happen to “us”. You need to stop watching the news.”

Well, it doesn’t have to happen to us in order to matter to us.
