Social Security beneficiaries and other people in the programs database do not appear to appreciate a recent email from the department praising the passage of President Donald Trumps budget.
snip
The email, containing a message from Trump-appointed Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano, claims Trumps budget ensures that nearly 90 percent of Social Security beneficiaries will no longer pay federal income taxes on their benefits.
snip
We rated that statement Mostly False, said Politifact analyst Louis Jacobson. The bill will provide a tax break for Americans ages 65 and over, but it wont eliminate the Social Security tax entirely. Some 24 million Social Security beneficiaries will still be taxed on some of their checks from the program, according to Congress bipartisan Joint Committee on Taxations staff director. Many of those are younger than 65 and thus ineligible for the new tax deduction.
Jacobson added that the resulting reduction in payments to the Social Security trust fund will mean benefit cuts to beneficiaries will likely come sooner as the fund is threatened with insolvency.

1. No taxes on tips and overtime - that's billions of dollars in Social Security revenue that is not collected.
2. Most or all of the immigrants' social security numbers have been invalidated, so they can't work, and immigrants are being deported. Immigrants pay BILLIONS into Social Security while never receiving benefits since they are not citizens.
3. "No tax on social security" (as their silly email claims . Cutting taxes on Social Security also takes billions out of the trust fund. NOTE: I'm told these taxes were not eliminated, but instead, seniors on Social Security who pay taxes on Social Security will get an extra deduction. That does not take from the trust fund but is just a regular tax deduction for some seniors (not high-income seniors or those whose Social Security isn't taxed).
4. The Trump taxes (tariffs) will increase inflation, thereby increasing the COLA from Social Security, which will cost it more as a result.
AT LEAST THREE OF THESE will cause Social Security to be unable to pay full benefits starting in 2030 or so instead of the previous date that this would have happened - 2033 or 2034.
UNLESS Congress gets off their asses and does something to fix this, Social Security will only pay 80-85% of benefits starting in about 2030, thanks to DONALD TRUMP and Republicans, their incessant lies and seething hatred of this program, which has been undeniably the most successful anti-poverty program in the United States.
