2. Continuing to pay FICA taxes is a good thing. A limited deduction for overtime pay is good too. If you remember Harris

supported the exemption after trump proposed it.

In no way does that offset the chit in the BBB or change fact trump is a POS, but it's ludicrous to tell some laborer, nurse, etc., they don't benefit in anyway from the $12,500 deduction for overtime pay.

3. People who WANT to work a lot of overtime are underpaid to begin with.

It seems to me that this provision would push the corporate bean counters to favor forcing current workers into more OT, rather than hiring additional staff.

I already see a staffing crisis at my job because of the f***** bean counters and either idiot or ineffective leadership to set them straight.

Of course in my job I don't get OT anyway, and most of the people I know don't. But to the extent non-exempt staff support my area, this is one more thumb on the scale against proper staffing.

It was a cynical move so the GOP can run in 2028 claiming the Dems will allow it to expire and thus raise taxes on the working class.

Similarly, the Medicaid cuts and document reforms start in 2027 to avoid it as a mid-term election issue.

6. Yep, and the Democrats better overcome their messaging shortcomings to convey this to the public.
