Former President Joe Biden claimed that world leaders and U.S. lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are reaching out to him for advice and to ask him to remain active in politics amid the divisive second term of his successor, President Donald Trump.
Biden is still involved in politics but now remains behind the scenes, he told the Society for Human Resource Management in San Diego on Wednesday after being asked how hes filling his newfound time since leaving office.
I stayed engaged because I really cared about what I was doing. Many things I worked so damn hard [on], that I thought I had changed the country, are changing so rapidly, Biden said, a reference to Trumps ongoing bid to gut most of his policy achievements.
Biden later revealed, Im getting calls. Im not going to go into it, I cant. From a number of European leaders asking me to get engaged. Im not, but Im giving advice. Because things are different. You know, I often ask the question, if America doesnt lead the world, who can? Not a joke. Not because of power. Who could put it together? And mistakes, today, have significantly greater consequences than they did 50 years ago.

(967 posts)Biden could have asked him to resign/retire after Garland's first disastrous year. All low key and decent. Biden's failure singularly gave us today's mess.

The January 6 committee provided several indictment recommendations against trump and others which Special Counsel Jack Smith acted on, and trump's appointed judges, including the SC insured they did not succeed.
The stakes were very clear in the elections of 2016, and 2024.

(5,252 posts)not that a respectable percentage of magats weren't daydreaming about assassinating him,
with much less provocation than those who might have the same daydreams about Trump...
but then again, if it were Biden, too many MSM news people might have been asking
"did Joe Biden have it coming? what did he do to deserve this?
we asked a bunch of magats this question at a rural diner no one ever heard of,
and this is what they told us"
