People on the right don't know the difference between Democrats, Socialists, and Communists.

They are all intended as slurs, but you can bet TSF has no idea what any of these words actually mean.

And they don't know what Fascism is either, so if you try to discuss it, good luck.

He just called the NY mayoral candidate a communist.

People pretty much ignore him.

She is today's guest on the podcast "We Can Do Hard Things" (hosted by Glenon Doyle, Abby Wambach), although heaven forfend I could find a direct link independent of a particular podcast platform.

Anyway - she goes into how the concepts of democracy, socialism, and communism got swapped around - not just these last few years, but following the Civil War. I learned more from this hour than I have from anything else I can think of recently.

While you're there, take eight minutes to be inspired by Glennon Doyle's message "Don't Tread On Me." It's just what I needed to hear today.
