Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. declared in April that by September we will know what has caused the autism epidemic, setting a timeline of five months for identifying the growth of a disorder that has been heavily researched for decades across the globe.
We are going to know by September, Kennedy declared at a Trump Cabinet meeting, while crediting this forecast to his launch of a federal study that he reportedly tapped a fellow vaccine skeptic to oversee. Weve launched a massive testing and research effort thats going to involve hundreds of scientists from around the world. By September we will know what has caused the autism epidemic and well be able to eliminate those exposures.
Kennedy, a prolific vaccine skeptic who along with President Donald Trump has spread widely disproven claims that the shots are linked to autism, went on to stress that autism rates are rising in the U.S., with about 1 in 31 children diagnosed today, as opposed to 1 in 10,000 when I was a kid.
Medical experts have primarily attributed this increase to improved diagnostic capabilities, a broadened definition of autism and increased awareness. Researchers believe there is no single cause of autism but that a combination of factors, including genetics, plays a role, as the National Institutes of Health explains on its website.

(131,252 posts)must have been autistic. At the time (about 1960) people just said he was "retarded," and you couldn't carry on a normal conversation with him, but he was able to play the piano and could tell you for any date at all what day of the week it fell on, and he had some other odd math-related abilities. I don't know what happened to him - his mother died when he was about 14, so in those days he probably would have been institutionalized. I never even heard the term autism until at least 20 years after that.

and the media will report it like it is a legitimate thing we should listen to, while ACTUAL researchers are jumping up and down begging for a slot on the camera

(126,683 posts)Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring :
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
And drinking largely sobers us again.
Fired at first sight with what the Muse imparts,
In fearless youth we tempt the heights of Arts ;
While from the bounded level of our mind
Short views we take, nor see the lengths behind,
But, more advanced, behold with strange surprise
New distant scenes of endless science rise !
So pleased at first the towering Alps we try,
Mount oer the vales, and seem to tread the sky ;
The eternal snows appear already past,
And the first clouds and mountains seem the last ;
But those attained, we tremble to survey
The growing labours of the lengthened way ;
The increasing prospect tires our wandering eyes,
Hills peep oer hills, and Alps on Alps arise !

about as far from the Pierian Spring as you can get. RobK is unbelievably stupid, a trait you have to really work at to attain.
