I think Newsweek wants to say "They were thirty-eight points underwater so a bright new sun-shiney day is dawning for them"

But maybe it's just tough work spinning cow patties

That is up from a net approval of -37 points in May, when 26 percent approved and 63 percent disapproved.

When every other poll shows his approval declining amongst Latinos, especially on immigration.

I say this poll is an outlier.

Last month's Newsweek article was headlined "Donald Trump Is Losing Support With Hispanics", based also on the polls.

In any case, this article's headline is accurate, based on the difference between the two Yougov polls. That would have been obvious if the the 3rd sentence of the article was kept.

The sample size of Hispanics in the poll is like 200. That's going to have like a +/-7 MoE for the subgroup. So with that the difference in last month and this month isn't big enough to actually say there was any change.

No mention of MOE. Without the sample size of Hispanics (also not provided shocker) no one can figure it out either. But I would bet that this 7 point gain is actually not far outside of and likely within the MOE for Hispanic voters.

They are very religious. I don’t talk 5o them about it anymore, but it was always very consistent. They don’t like Mexicans that enter illegally versus following the process that they did. Our company has resources to help employees with the paperwork. That being said, some have been very concerned for family members that never got green cards.

It's just polling errors. when you factor in the polling error from their last poll and this recent one, they are both probably 3.5% off one way or the other.

Well, there are fewer Hispanics on the streets these days, so of course there are fewer to respond to the poll negatively. Brilliant strategy on Trump’s part. Imagine Trump’s favorability will similarly increase among other groups soon.
