(24,395 posts)Disgusting reheated burgers from the day before are not left-overs. They're a feast from King Taco paid for by the US taxpayer.

(60,186 posts)Anyone who has ever been to a White House Christmas Party--and I know that DU has had several "alumni," not just me--knows that if you attended one of those things in the Obama days, the food was so good, you could barely crawl home, you were so full. To offer day-old hamburgers is not only an affront to the people attending, it sends a signal worldwide that the most prestigious piece of real estate in the country isn't capable of offering better than day-old junk food to its guests who are there to celebrate the most important national holiday we have.
At least, we have the answer to the question of whether or not we have sunk so low.
During the Nixon era, Nixon nominated a perfectly awful Florida judge to the Supreme Court named G. Harrold Carswell. From the beginning, there was considerable opposition to the Carswell nomination, and his record was cited as "mediocre." He was defended in the Senate by an idiot Republican who said that "there were a lot of mediocre people in the United States, and they deserved some representation on the Supreme Court, too." I'm sure the Senator who said it didn't have a good grasp on exactly what "mediocre" means. I'm thinking maybe Trump doesn't, either.

(46,142 posts)They dont do due diligence. If they had, they would have known that precooked burgers also were served at the White House 4th of July party in 2021 (and probably other years as well). Nothing like handing the other side a softball to hit.
