Recruiting More Democrats

We need to recruit more High Level Establishment Dems and anti-MAGA Republicans to this Site. There are a lot of good people and ideas here and word needs to get out. Pod Save America, Dr. Maddow, Tim Miller, Bryan Taylor Cohen (sp?) should at least have some Staff and Assistants following DU. More ideas are on the way.

I have sent some emails to those people. We need a large mailing from DU to get their attention. These are busy professional people.

These folks are busy creating content to make a living.

I don’t see how their presence at DU would do anything to help the fight against fascism.

Celebrities are not our saviours- we must be the change we wish to see.

I am not trying to recruit them because they are celebrities. I am trying to recruit them because they have a platform and they can reach a lot of people. Media figures are human beings just like you and me. We should try to establish contact with their staff and interns at least so the word can get out.

But expect to be disappointed.

Hard pass from me.

Indivisible.org has resources for many better ways to spend your time and energy fighting fascism.

Why can't we have more Political Analysis on these Message Boards? I dont have the energy or means to go to a demonstration. This place is my demonstration. We need to elevate the level of discourse here. Just my two cents.

There are plenty of pundits on TV and the internet that will tell you what they think is “the answer” to the pressing questions of the day.

If you can’t go to a demonstration, try other home based activities- call or write (emails are ignored) your representatives, daily if necessary. Sign up for a postcard campaign (sending postcards to voters near election time to encourage them to get to the polls. Do phone banking for the candidate of your choice.

Seeking out more and more bias-confirming analysis and punditry is of limited value IMO.

Fair enough. Consider my Posts here to be Rough Drafts of Papers that I intend to send to my Elected Officials and to Media Figures as well. You are Canadian? You have a strong grasp on American politics for a Canadian. Elbows up, man.

Reaching more people on different platforms. The American people have to become invested in saving our country and making their votes count to that end.

actually not want them to be part of the Democratic party.

which is quite sad because with all the chaos and suffering that trump and his rethugs are causing, it makes the opportunity to regain power that much more difficult because it contributes to division among Democrats.

Not a good strategy.

The adversary should be the republicans, not fellow Democrats.

MAGA is the Enemy, not Moderate Republicans. MAGA has consumed the Republican Party like a Cancer. We have anti-MAGA Republicans like Tim Miller. So we need to break up MAGA in part by recruiting more Anti-Trump Republicans.

Not everyone makes a good Democrat. If there is hatred in their heart towards non-white races or transgender individuals, or love in their hearts for fascism, then I don't think we want to invite them to become Democrats.

Rather, we should "recruit" them to stay at home, which is about the best we can hope for, for such lost souls.

various demn leaning sites.

It's up to them if they want to sign up. But there are people that are more interesting on just getting clicks to links and never really discuss anything.
