Fred Wellman @FPWellmanFirst, you will think how outrageous it is that masked anonymous armed men thought they could just walk into private property and do whatever they want at the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture. Then, youll remember that Puerto Ricans are American Citizens and these fools arent looking for undocumented immigrants at all.

(15,771 posts)Thankful that these figureheads are gathering to stand up for people. BUT also note that only ONE US Congressperson is showing up!
And if all they are going to do is talk about how to "stay safe" in light of these thugs, it's bullshit and no help. They should either cancel the events or find some (police?) agency to cover the safety of those participating...
Otherwise, get ready to see this become a tragedy and them hauling people off by the truckload, citizens or no.
I'm disgusted.

(37,613 posts)That's owned by the Chicago Park District.
It's a public park, city-owned.
The building was renovated and the museum founded and collection is that of a non-profit, but it's a non-profit housed in a public building on public land.
No clue what right Feds would have to be on city-owned public land. But in this case, no, they weren't looking for undocumented; they were looking for assess access points for an upcoming event.
