(15,771 posts)I had to run a 'titration' test when I was working for after-school care because I wasn't gonna get poked oif I still had some of the antibodies...truns out I'm covered for all of them still, thank gawd.

(151 posts)I told doc that I wasnt sure if I had the vaccine as kid. He recommended that I get one either way.

(114,696 posts)If you do not have good records that make it clear you had "regular" measles infection as a child (rubeola, i.e., "red" measles) then you have two options:
1. have a titer drawn to see what your antibody level is.
2. Get the MMR regardless (not harmful to do so).
If you really had rubeola (regular measles circulating now), then your immunity should be lifelong. But, if in doubt, go to #1 or #2.

Just had first grandchild, and original vaccination was pre 1965 so wanted to be sure.

I'm 58 if that helps (probably 50-ish when this happened). Might be worth just getting the shot if it isn't a monetary problem.
