NRA's news conference & my 82 year old mother's response...........
"it sounds like what Hitler would do." after hearing that the NRA wants armed police personnel in every school.

1. I'd be fine with a cop stationed at each school. Better than teachers having guns.

3. States are CUTTING!!! cops can't have it both ways
Plus a lot of schools do have cops one or two if two cops were in that CT school they would have been out gunned with that weapon he had. They said he still had over a 100 rounds left when he killed himself

8. Dude I'm about the farthest thing from a "gun humper." What if someone gets in there though?
I've never shot a gun in my life. My concern is that if a gunman gets in there at least a cop would have a chance of stopping them. Right now they have free roam throughout the schools until SWAT shows up.

9. Well, they did that in Colorado
There was an armed sheriff's deputy stationed at Columbine high school.
Clearly, that prevented any mass shooting......oh wait..... |

13. You minimize the damage they can cause
For example, schools already have lockdown procedures that make it harder on an attacker.
Laws limiting clip size, requiring gun safes, restricting what guns are available, and so on reduce the damage the shooter can cause. |
