You have to objectively admire the fascists' ability to shift the narrative at will.

A week ago, everyone was so outraged and focused on the heinous, cruel and absolutely destructive Big “Beautiful” Bill. A real piece of legislation that is going to devastate millions of people.

But one statement “The Epstein files don’t exist” completely wiped it off the front page of every newspaper and website, including this one, and has everyone on a snipe hunt again.

For the gods’ sake, there were political assassinations a couple weeks ago and that story is gone as if it never happened. It barely made a blip on the radar as everyone was off chasing whatever shiny object Piss was reflecting the light off of.

These people are absolute masters of distraction, manipulation and propaganda. And everyone falls for it time and time again.

Objectively, you have to admire it. They’re really good at this part of the game. The fact that people are so easily distracted really helps them do worse and worse things and get away with it.

It's not like they're good at lying. They're incredibly bad at it, their lies are usually obvious and easily disproved.

They're not clever, they're not smart, they're not playing 8-dimensional chess.

They've bought a ton of media outlets, they've bullied others, sued and threatened more, got reporters fired, replaced editorial boards, cut off access based on coverage not being biased enough, etc.

So it takes no genius to change the topic or distract or anything, because that's what the media is now set up to do.

It's like praising someone for pitching a perfect game after bribing the ump to call everything a strike.
