Last 5 Summers have spent from late July on in smoke in mountains of northwest California

Posted this in a thread and then thought to make an OP.

Now there is a fire to the east where there are already evacuations

Butler Fire https://app.watchduty.org/i/53945

There is another fire to the north presently in a federal Wilderness that has scarcely been addressed.

Red Fire https://app.watchduty.org/i/54736

There was a public meeting in tiny town I live near that did not attend but there will be a "Complex" Command Center in place by Saturday (see Red fire link above). There has already been a flood of equipment and crews flowing into town the last three days.

This small fire occurred last week less than a mile from my home but was stopped. Picture gives idea of type of terrain and forest.

edit to insert clip meant to post: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/H7_N8C9VfYI

The vast majority of the forest is National Forest, some now inside legislated Wilderness. Between 1950 and 1991 there was much road building and logging on the National Forests that was shut down over the Spotted Owl and now is primarily managed for the Native American culture and the sadly the forest fire industry.

All the National Forest save for the legal Wilderness are what has been identified by the Trump administration as potentially up for sale and roadless areas that have not been logged open for roading and logging, opened for roading and logging.

This is the National Forest immediately inland from Redwood National Park bisected by the Klamath River.

This all really sucks.

Wish more adults and those of good heart were in charge.

Pea sized or smaller. Hasn't been like that in ages.
